Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga Support Berry Family After Tragic Accident

Uncle of orphaned, injured Texas children calls outreach 'amazing.'

On July 3, the Berry family suffered an incredible tragedy. Parents Joshua and Robin Berry were killed in a car crash, while brothers Peter, 9, and Aaron, 8, were paralyzed, possibly for life, and remain hospitalized. Their younger sister, Willa, 6, was also injured, but suffered only broken bones. In the weeks since the crash in Texas, celebrities have been doing their part to help raise money for the care of the three young children.

Using the power of social media, everyone from Justin Bieber and Britney Spears to Lady Gaga and Usher have asked their fans to "Show Your Hearts" with donations at showyourhearts.org and via text message (texting BERRY to 85944 donates $10). Their call to arms has meant the world to Matt Berry, the kids' uncle.

"My wife had this family member in the Justin Bieber camp, and when the accident happened ... they reached out to us and asked how they could help," he told MTV News on Thursday. "So, it's been pretty much organic from their reaching out. Right after the accident, he was asking for their names and praying with his mom for the kids. It's not something we expected would happen, obviously.

"So, my understanding is that he wanted to do something to help, and the best way they could help was to create awareness," he continued. "They have a lot of friends and contacts. And then, of course, once their campaigns started going, it looked like a lot of people joined it because I think everyone had some sort of feeling of empathy."

The family is still mending: Peter and Aaron's "lifelong conditions" have been amplified by the loss of their parents; meanwhile Willa is still trying to come to terms with the incident.

Matt Berry said of all the public support they've received has "definitely helped." "Anything that goes to help the kids in their predicament [helps]. I don't know how long it will continue. I'm not someone who likes to be in the public eye, so it's a little bit awkward, but it's amazing.

"It's a little bit overwhelming," he added, but he said that right now, the family is taking it "day by day" as they deal with the aftermath of such a tremendously tragic turn of events.

"If it was up to us, we'd pray that they were able to stand up in a couple of weeks and walk out of the hospital, but the likelihood of that happening is low," he said, adding that the boys are readying for rehab to try to heal in any small way. "There's been a lot of people supporting us, and that's huge. The ultimate dream is if in their lifetime, there's enough momentum to figure something out and fix spinal-cord injuries. We've got two of them that need something special."

Britney Spears Adds DJ Pauly D To Femme Fatale Tour

'Britney is one of my favorite performers and certainly one of this generation's most influential artists,' 'Jersey Shore' star says.

A while back, there was a rumor that "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D would be an opening act on Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour. That rumor can now be confirmed as true. Pauly D will open for the singer on six of her August tour dates.

He's set to hit the road with Spears on August 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before his jaunt with her wraps on August 25 in Charlotte, South Carolina. "I am so excited to be performing on the Britney Spears Femme Fatale tour," he said in a statement. "Britney is one of my favorite performers and certainly one of this generation's most influential artists. It's an amazing platform to connect with my fans around the country."

Spears currently has several artists opening for her, including Jessie and the Toy Boys, Nervo and Nicki Minaj. Pauly D served as Spears' warm-up act at her gig in Las Vegas in March, where he spoke to MTV News about her influence on pop music.

"What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it's an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career," he explained at the Palms Hotel and Casino, where Spears electrified the stage just days before she dropped her album. "And it's just fun being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she's performing. I love it. I couldn't ask for more."

And if fans are expecting Pauly to DJ some of the singer's greatest hits, they'd better think again. "A DJ should not play the artist's songs at her concert 'cause she has to perform these songs," he said. "I'm not going to be playing any Britney before she performs; maybe after. I'll let her perform, let her shine 'cause it's her night."

DJ Pauly D will join Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour on the following dates:

»August 17 - Grand Rapids, MI @ Van Andel Arena
»August 19 - Pittsburgh, PA @ CONSOL Energy Center
»August 20 - Columbus, OH @ Nationwide Arena
»August 22 - Indianapolis, IN @ Conseco Fieldhouse
»August 24 - Raleigh, NC @ RBC Center
»August 25 - Charlotte, SC @ Time Warner Cable Center

'Jersey Shore' Stars Can't Find Love in Italy

'There were no guidos there, surprisingly,' Snooki tells MTV News.
By Christina Garibaldi

Photo: MTV News

The fourth season of "Jersey Shore" is now under way, and during last week's premiere episode, we got to see the crew take on the streets of Florence, Italy, for the first time. Yes, they brought along the GTL and their fist pumps, but were they able to bring along that Jersey charm to win over Italian men and women?

"There were no guidos there, surprisingly. It's Italy," Snooki told MTV News.

She's not the only castmember who said the Italian men in Florence didn't meet her standards: Deena agreed. "I went there looking for a nice authentic man, and let me tell you: I found a few," she said. "But no guidos. It was more like Lean Cuisines."

Snooki added, "They weren't even Lean Cuisines; they were like skinny Gumbys."

Even though the ladies didn't have any luck, you might think the single men of the house — Mike, Vinny and Pauly (also known as MVP) — would be able to find a nice Italian girl. Well, think again.

"It's a lot harder to find than you think," Vinny said. "Florence is an international city, a lot of Americans, but when we did find the Italian girls, they were very mature. They're ready to settle down at a young age."

Someone that probably isn't ready to settle down anytime soon, the Situation, seemed to have no problem translating his smooth-talking ways into Italian women's hearts.

"Italian women over there were very sweet. I got a chance to know one or two that didn't speak a lick of English," the Situation said. "There really isn't a language barrier 'cause at the end of the day, we all know there's one language: It's the language of love."

Don't miss "Jersey Shore" every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV!

Michele Bachmann Newsweek Cover: Crazy, Biased?

Newsweek's latest issue features Michele Bachmann on the cover, and as usual, controversy is accompanying the fiery Republican presidential candidate.

The cover shows the 55-year-old standing against a stark blue background, looking directly into the camera with a wide-eyed, borderline INSANE expression.

The headline advertising the cover story: "THE QUEEN OF RAGE."

Michelle Bachmann Newsweek Cover

Crazy and biased or not ... they could've picked a better photo.

The word "Rage" is not actually used in the article on the Congresswoman, though it does criticize the "radical" nature of the Tea Party Bachmann champions.

Newsweek is already facing conservative backlash for the portrayal - as it has for a recent Mitt Romney cover and its infamous Sarah Palin covers in 2008-09.

Conservatives are slamming Newsweek for making Michele look "crazy" and citing this as proof that the mainstream media is biased against conservatives.

What do you think? Is the above cover biased?

Anne Hathaway Responds To 'Dark Knight Rises' Catwoman Reaction

'If you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do,' actress promises MTV News.
By Kara Warner with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman
Photo: Warner Bros

It was the photo that launched a thousand blog posts, tweets and message-board debates. Last week, the Web was ablaze when Warner Bros. released the first photo of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle in "The Dark Knight Rises."

MTV News was immediately on the case, offering up our own analysis, as well as thoughts from a few experts on what the photo of Hathaway in costume, riding what looked to be Batman's motorcycle, meant for the character and her assumed transformation into Catwoman.

Check out our photo analysis of Hathaway's Catwoman.

Now, in knowing how tight-lipped the "Dark Knight Rises" stars are sworn to be about the films, when we caught up with Hathaway as she promoted the upcoming movie "One Day," we didn't expect her to offer any commentary about the photo — but she surprised us.

"I was not going to admit it: I asked someone to send me a few reactions [to the photo]," she said. "And I happen to know that MTV's reaction was 'meh.' "

Now, we're not sure about the "meh" quote, but we will admit to using the phrases "cautiously optimistic," "unflattering" and "underwhelming" in our analysis.

Regardless, Hathaway said that no matter the first impressions, there is a lot more happening with that suit.

"What I am happy to say is, if you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do," she promised. "And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste."

Check out everything we've got on "The Dark Knight Rises."

Britney Spears, Taking Back Sunday Video Worlds Collide Thanks To Director

Chris Marrs Piliero explains why the cat in 'Faith (When I Let You Down)' comes across an Easter egg from 'I Wanna Go.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: Warner Bros.

Taking Back Sunday's video for "Faith (When I Let You Down)" is a social commentary about the fleeting nature of Internet fame, as illustrated by a fake cat trying to make it in Hollywood. It also happens to be the latest installment in the kooky videography of music video auteur Chris Marrs Piliero.

"It was an idea that I had floating around in my head, and when I listened to the song ... the meaning of the song clicked in my brain," the director said of the clip, which follows his cheeky video for Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go."

"People just love cat videos," he explained. "And I just thought it would be fun to see what it would like if a cat had the brain to be like, 'Sh--, I'm a big deal.' "

In the video, Taking Back Sunday post a clip of their cat online, and soon "OMG, WTF TBS Cat" goes viral. The cat eventually hops on a bus to L.A. (with a quick nod to Guns N' Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"), finds fame, disses the TBS guys, fails to make it as an actor, winds up in porn and eventually can't handle the pressure. Then, of course, TBS Cat heads back home.

Was that cat as difficult in real life as he was in the video?

"I was like halfway into the shoot, and he was throwing out demands," Piliero recalled, laughing. "It got to the point where no one was allowed to make eye contact with him on set. I had to sit him down and have a heart to heart with him."

Along with the GNR homage and a few other pop-culture references, the video includes a cute Easter egg for Britney fans: One of TBS cat's discarded audition scripts is for the fantasy Spears sequel, "Crossroads 2: Cross Harder," which is also on the marquee in "I Wanna Go."

"I made the TBS video right after the Britney video," he said. "I felt like the cat could exist in the same world as the 'I Wanna Go' world, so I thought it would be a fun little Easter egg. Also, [frontman] Adam [Lazzara] from TBS texted me after watching the Britney video, and I didn't even realize that during the paparazzi fight when she swings the mic around — that is something that Adam does all the time, which is something I was very conscious of — but I didn't realize the scene happened in front of a store called Keaton's, and his son is called Keaton!"

Silk bedding, also knows as silk slips are being even more and much more mainstream and gradually evolving into the favored selection using the opening up on the Chinese trade marketplace. Yet they're nonetheless not easily accessible in the mainstream shops wherever you might go shopping. My encounter and study exhibits that silk slips are preferred purchased from specialty stores that concentrate on silk bedding. There's a lot of this kind of merchants on the web that 1 can select from.
Acquiring via the internet will take absent the experience of sensation and viewing the bedding before you acquire the blanket but you're able to ensure you have an awesome silk comforters by guaranteeing some points. This write-up should well equip you to make an advised choice. The first thing 1 needs to keep in thoughts what kind of silk comforter is it. You will find a couple of types of silk comforters. I'd suggest a pure silk blanket or it may well be called a silk stuffed bedding.

A silk
stuffed blanket is 1 that is full of silk floss and covered having a pure silk shell. A huge number of silk cocoons are utilised to make this soft, light and fluffy filling for 1 silk blanket. Do not be misled by blankets which are stuffed with cotton and possess a pure silk housing or covering. The appeal on the silk blanket is having the silk floss around the inside for its thermal features, light excess weight and organic hypoallergenic traits.
When you invest in a silk bedding or silk cover (each would be the same) make certain additionally you make investments in a silk duvet cover. This way your choices open up and you can purchase any coloured silk bedding and then pick the silk cover cover according to your d?cor and fashion. Selecting a silk blanket cover also raises the daily life with the blanket which could span any exactly where form 5 - ten many years to a couple of many years, based on how properly you care for the silk cover. The silk cover cover absorbs the put on and tear and helps enhance the living with the silk bedding.

Silk
slips can be found in lots of weights and you ought to be conscious of what bodyweight silk slip you need to invest in. Based on the local weather and your rest model pick an suitable silk comforter. Normally the numerous weights the silk blankets can be found in are winter season, spring. The spring comforters could be terrific for warmer climates plus the winter months ones for the colder temperatures. A phrase of caution there is no consistent weight so each and every producers weights can vary. Some may perhaps incorporate the shell within the excess fat also and a few may just list the excess fat on the filling. Silk covers are a lot thinner and lighter that the down blankets so don't be alarmed whenever you obtain your blanket.

A silk
cover adds to the artistic of any room. Not only does the room look far better but the all-natural drape in the silk cover makes it possible for for even temperature all over your body preventing both warm and cold spots. The silk duvets are neat to touch but warm when used. Its light excess fat and lightness provides the illusion of sleeping amongst clouds. My vote is for getting a silk duvet and purchasing each a more healthy lifestyle and also a greener planet.

George Clooney & Stacy Keibler's Romance Heating Up?

George Clooney & Stacy Keibler's Romance Heating Up?

George Clooney and Stacy Keibler's rumored romance has gone intercontinental! Last week, sources reported that Keibler had been spending time at Clooney's house in Lake Como, Italy. Now, photographers have snapped the 31-year-old former Dancing with the Stars contestant visiting Clooney, 50, at his Hollywood home.

Keibler, 31, was spotted driving through the gates of Clooney's house on Sunday afternoon. According to Us Weekly, she hadn't left as of Monday morning. And we're guessing that she's not there to give George dancing lessons!

"It's more than just a fling," says the magazine's source of the surprising couple. "They're basically exclusive at this point."

When approached by paparazzi this weekend, former WWE wrestler Keibler refused to comment on her relationship with Clooney, pretending instead to be busy with her phone. But if her Twitter feed is any indication, Keibler seems especially happy lately. On August 1, Keibler tweeted, "Life really could not be any better, I'm smiling all day long." Then on Sunday morning, she wrote, "What a gorgeous day to wake up to." If she's waking up to what we think she's waking up to, then "gorgeous" is definitely the word!

Keibler ended a five-year relationship with 7th Heaven actor Geoff Stults in 2010. Clooney and Italian model Elisabetta Canalis broke off their two-year relationship in June 2011.

Will Beyonce's 4 Be #1 Again?

Experts think B needs a hit single soon, but her latest album seems poised to top the charts again next week.
By Jocelyn Vena

Beyonce's <i>4</i>
Photo: Columbia

As a contender for 2011 Summer Diva, Beyoncé is certainly making great strides to rule the airwaves this summer. After B's fourth solo LP, 4, debuted at #1 last week, it's looking likely that she'll top the charts on next week's Billboard albums chart as well.

A rep for SoundScan hadn't responded to MTV News' request for an exact number of units expected to be sold by next week, but Billboard is reporting that a lack of high-powered new releases should secure a repeat top spot for Beyoncé's latest.

The buzz around B and the album will probably only continue to grow, since she's slated to debut a video for her next single, "Best Thing I Never Had," very soon. But her album's success comes as a bit of a surprise, seeing as "Run the World (Girls)" nor any other single has really resonated with fans or radio so far.

"Beyoncé, I love her, but none of her singles thus far off 4 seem poised to be doing huge numbers," Perez Hilton told MTV News.

But we should not count B out in the singles department just yet, Us Weekly senior music editor Ian Drew said.

"You've got to remember that Beyoncé, being typical Beyoncé, her albums generally are anchored by really big hits; this album doesn't have those hits yet," Drew told MTV News. "It's not to say that it won't. There are some very strong songs on the album, but they have not been released yet. There are those songs on it, but they have not come out yet and they haven't struck yet. Beyoncé is coming out at a time when radio is very crowded."

Despite those obstacles, B is definitely marching to the beat of her own drummer. "She's going in a different direction," Drew said. "She's taking control of her own career."

Have you checked out Beyoncé's new album? Share your reviews in the comments!

"His spirits are a lot higher," Bieber explained to MTV News in an interview that will air tonight (August 2) on "MTV First: Sean Kingston." "He still has to have people around him to make sure he's doing alright, but his spirits are high, and he's doing well."

Big Boi Released From Jail

'Fresh Out Baby,' Outkast MC tweets following his arrest on drug charges.
By Rob Markman

Big Boi didn't spend very much time in jail on Sunday. At approximately 10 am. ET, the Outkast rapper was arrested after Customs agents in Miami allegedly found MDMA powder, Ecstasy pills and Viagra (a controlled substance) in the ATLien's luggage upon his return from a cruise.

"Fresh Out Baby!" Big Boi tweeted at about 6 p.m., followed by, "Sh-- they said it was the Love Boat," two hours later.

Big was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and was held at the Pre-Trial Detention Center in Miami on a $16,000 bond. Last week, Sir Lucious Left Foot tweeted that he was on vacation and sent out photos from Puerto Rico and Grand Turk Island via the social networking site. The rapper was apprehended upon returning to the States.

An arrest affidavit, sent to MTV News by the Miami-Dade Police department on Monday (August 8), confirms that after Big Boi was searched by a Border Patrol officer using a drug-sniffing dog, the Atlanta MC was busted with 5.7 grams of MDMA in powder form, three pills of suspect Ecstasy and a total of 10 and a half pills of Viagra, as well as a cigarette roller with marijuana residue.

The MC's attorney, Daniel Kane, sounded confident that his client would be cleared. In a statement issued to MTV News, Kane said, "While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage. I am confident when the entire facts are aired, Big Boi will be completely exonerated."

Big Boi, born Antwan Patton, got his start in 1994 alongside Andre 3000 in the group Outkast. Together they released six studio albums including the 2006 soundtrack for their film "Idlewild." They've sold millions of albums and earned four Grammy awards. Last year, Big Boi released his first solo LP, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, and the group is rumored to be working on a seventh studio album, though there's no official word on a release date.

What do you think of Big Boi's arrest? Let us know in the comments.

Despite the fact that there are several high-profile actors featured in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," including James Franco, Freida Pinto and Tom Felton, the stars have not been shy about the fact that the apes and special effects are the must-see elements of the film.

"There's a mix of fantastic CGI and amazing effects that we've never seen onscreen before," Felton told MTV News at the premiere of the film. "Along with a strong story and a strong message that humans can't play God too much; we should not overstep our bounds when it comes to Mother Nature.

"We ruin it all," Felton continued, speaking to the oft-self-destructive nature of the human race. "We are our own cause of destruction, which is quite an insight, I think. Hopefully, it is a wakeup call for the world so we don't overstep our boundaries."

In addition to looking out for that powerful message, fans of the original "Planet of the Apes" starring Charlton Heston should keep an ear out for a certain line Felton was honored to deliver.

"I didn't know for sure it was going to be in the cut, but you just confirmed for me, so thank you; I'm very excited to see the infamous line," he said with a smile about the chance to say, "Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!" "My dad was so excited about that. He's an old-school fan who grew up with them and loved them, so he'll be pleased to hear that."

Felton's dad might also be pleased to hear that "Apes" director Rupert Wyatt and co-star Andy Serkis had nothing but positive things to say about his son's work ethic and performance.

"He's a man who prepares a great deal," Wyatt said of Felton. "I think this was his first film where he played an American. His accent was flawless. He trained really hard to get it to that place. He's a consummate professional. When you've grown up on a film set, which he has, you can go one of two ways, and Tom is such a gentleman and such a professional. He completely threw himself into that role and was up for anything. It was very inspiring for me as a director to work with someone like that."

"He's just got fantastic energy," Serkis added. "He's so positive. He wants to keep working at it and get it right. And he's great fun as well. He's really great fun."

We got to see how Beyoncé would "Run the World (Girls)" in her post-apocalyptic video for the song, and then we attended her wedding in "Best Thing I Never Had." Now Queen B is throwing a "Party" in her latest video, and lucky for us, we're all invited.

According to reports, Beyoncé headed to New Jersey to shoot the video. ThatGrapejuice.net reported that Beyoncé was hanging with little sister Solange and former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland and was spotted wearing a fur jacket on set. The song also features Andre 3000, though he wasn't seen at the shoot.

Rapup.com further reported that the shoot took place at South Brunswick's Oakdale Mobile Home Park. The site posted photos of Beyoncé from the set in which she wearing a black dress and little black pillbox hat while being driven around in a golf cart. An old-school red muscle car was also spotted on set.

Local website Mycentraljersey.com spoke to some of the area's residents. "I wasn't expecting this," Bill Flaherty told the site. "There's a lot of good-looking young girls. I'm impressed by the artists doing the painting on the side of the trailer. This is not something that happens every day."

The video shows some of the area's charm, and a number of locals were used as extras in the clip. "We had a call last night to be here by 8 a.m.," the mother of Monica Singleton, an extra in the video, said.

Beyoncé is very busy locking down several videos off her album 4. Videostatic.com reported that Adria Petty, who worked with Beyoncé on her trippy "Sweet Dreams" video, will also work on her "Countdown" clip.

MTV News' request for comment from Beyoncé's camp had not been answered as of press time.

Big Brother Recap: A Bitter Concoction to Chug

Following Thursday's elimination of Brendon and Kalia's surprising Head of Household triumph, the remaining veterans found themselves in the crosshairs.

How would Jeff, Rachel and Jordan react to being completely out of power for the first time? Would Kalia stick to her guns or cave under pressure?

We reveal the answer to these questions, as well as the identity of the nominees, in our +/- recap of last night's Big Brother installment below ...

Kalia Booker Picture

Jordan and Porsche do their best to comfort a DEVASTATED Rachel. Plus 4 for the obligatory, hilarious pity party, but Minus 3 for calling Daniele "mean."

Jeff is livid that Porsche picked him and Shelly in the HoH challenge, which would eliminate one of them. Porsche claims she just chose two names and didn't even consider the consequences. Plus 7, because we actually believe the dim bulb.

Rachel actually does a respectable kiss-up job in offering the standard BB deal to Kalia. Minus 6, though, because her word is absolutely no good.

Daniele is now Official Adviser to the HoH. Dick would be proud. Plus 5.

Kalia becomes HYSTERICAL at the sight of her HoH room. Minus 10, because while missing one's family is obviously understandable, we're talking about her mom and sister here, not a young daughter like Shelly has.

Minus 2 more because they both went on Big Brother voluntarily. Deal.

Shelly is playing all sides, and making whomever is HoH her best friend. Pretty underhanded and transparent, but she's particularly adept at this. Plus 8.

Plus 4 for Adam's ceremonious removal of the suit, and Plus 1 more for getting to relive the highlight of that chain-smoking elf before the opening theme.

Hugs From Shelley

Minus 14 for the disgusting concoctions crafted in the Have/Have Not battle.

A tie resulted in a chug-off between Daniele and Jordan for all the marbles. Daniele won. Jordan threw up in the trash. Symbolic of the week overall. Plus 11.

For Jordan, this marked a turning point for more than her stomach. The pressure of being in the house (and being a target) are finally getting to her. Plus 5, as her tears - and Jeff's response - only made the dynamic duo more likable.

Plus 2 more, since Catfish and coconuts aren't too bad for Have Not fare.

In the HoH room, things go south REAL FAST when Kalia tells Jeff she's going to put him on the block against Rachel. Jordan is particularly distraught, while Jeff is focused more on Kalia's reasoning, which is BS. Minus 14.

Laying the martyrdom on thick, Jeff lays out all the scenarios and all the ways in which he'll be coming for Kalia. Guy's got a lot of confidence! Plus 3.

At the Nomination Ceremony, Jordan interjects when taking her key, saying she'll probably end up on the block anyway. Man, she is fired up! Plus 5.

Kalia nominates Jeff and Rachel as planned, adding that it's her own decision dammit. Plus 6, because despite the looming twist, those two would be gunning for her regardless. What's she gonna do, put up Lawon and Adam?

EPISODE TOTAL: +16. SEASON TOTAL: +62.

Did Kalia make the right call with her nominees?

Britney Spears Says She'd Love To Tour With Usher

In her 'Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale' special, she calls the 'OMG' singer 'really hot right now.'
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway

What do Britney Spears and Usher have in common? Well, they are both global superstars with a back catalogue of tunes that have kept fans dancing for a really long time and they both recently hooked up with will.i.am for tracks on their latest releases (the Black Eyed Peas mastermind worked on the pop vixen's Femme Fatale tune "Big Fat Bass"). And, if Spears has her way, she and the "OMG" singer could be hitting the road together.

When Spears sat down to talk with Sway Calloway for her "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale" special — airing Sunday (April 3) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV — the singer revealed that Usher is first on her list of artists she'd like to join her on tour.

"Oh, I'm so excited. I'm really excited about going on tour, very," she explained about her forthcoming summer trek, which happens to have a spot open on the bill now that Enrique Iglesias has pulled out of the gig. "I think Usher's really great right now. I think he's really hot right now. That would be cool [to tour with him]."

The North American road trip is expected to kick off June 17 in Sacramento, California, and will run for 26 dates, winding up on August 13 in Toronto. More details will be announced soon.

The "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale" special is a mixture of behind-the-scenes footage of the singer as she wraps up production on her album, which dropped this week, as well as an inside look at her life and fans. In addition, those who couldn't make Spears' recent nightclub show in Las Vegas will get to see her as she takes the stage in her latest pop incarnation.

Don't miss "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale," airing Sunday (April 3) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

'Cowboys & Aliens' And The Box Office: A Summer Battle

Why was alien/Western mash-up's $36.2 million debut considered a failure?
By Eric Ditzian

Hollywood box-office quiz time! One Steven Spielberg-produced alien flick based on an original idea hits theaters this summer, earns $35.4 million in its opening weekend and is roundly praised as proof that original ideas (those not based on board games and theme-park rides and the like) can thrive in the pop-culture marketplace. Another Steven Spielberg-produced alien flick that might as well have been based on an original idea (considering how few people had actually read the graphic novel on which it was based and how screenwriters changed everything except the title) hits theaters this summer, opens to $36.2 million during its first weekend and is tagged a major disappointment.

What gives? Well, in the comparison between the praised "Super 8" and the rebuked "Cowboys & Aliens," a lot, including budget, talent and a certain genre hybrid that just never seems to connect with moviegoers.

" 'Cowboys & Aliens' arrived with big-budget Hollywood hype — the stars (Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig), the huge budget ($160+ mil), and the above-the-line pedigree (Jon Favreau, Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg)," said Jeff Bock, box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations. "On the other end of the spectrum, 'Super 8' carried none of the big production clutter, and most impressively, was made for a third of what 'C&A' cost."

Projections heading into the weekend pegged "Cowboys" to gross in the $40 million to $50 million range, on par with something you'd expect from a movie based on an original idea with marquee talent on both sides of the camera. But reviews were tepid, the public has never shown a deep love for alien/Western mash-ups and, as Gitesh Pandya of Box Office Guru notes, "Cowboys" was the eleventh action movie released this summer. Its audience was also 53 percent male, leading Phil Contrino, editor of Boxoffice.com, to speculate that Universal could have tried to appeal more to women.

"[Star] Olivia Wilde wasn't included in the marketing blitz as much as she should have been," he said. "Going after fanboys can be a risky bet, because it often means that you're alienating other groups."

Perhaps "Cowboys" might have excelled at the box office in March, when even something like "Battle: Los Angeles" (a poorly reviewed original movie, its most recognizable face Aaron Eckhart's) was able to gross $35.6 million. Between the crowded summer calendar, the weak reviews and the unpalatable subject matter, "Cowboys" simply had too many cards stacked against it to thrive. It's likely to drop hugely in its second weekend. While hardly an outright bomb like "Sucker Punch," another original concept, "Cowboys" has stumbled enough to provide Hollywood with some valuable lessons.

To begin, studios are likely to stay far away from the alien/Western concept for a while. What's more, "Cowboys" shows once again that even A-list talent can't ensure a big opening. But what "Cowboys" won't do is make Hollywood shy away from basing films on less-recognizable properties or even original ideas altogether.

"Studios are already gambling on properties that are not based on recognizable properties, and most of them are big-budget sci-fi spectacles," Bock said. "Call it the 'Avatar' effect. Currently, there are nearly a dozen in production, many in 3-D. Most of them do have one thing in common: a dearth of big-name stars. Look for that trend to continue, as studios continue to bulk up the budget with SFX instead of stars."

Check out everything we've got on "Cowboys & Aliens."

Beyonce's 4 Holds On To Billboard #1

Adele's 21 is right behind at #2.
By Gil Kaufman

Make it a double for Beyoncé. After debuting with the lowest first-week totals of her solo career last week with 4, the "Best Thing I Never Had" singer will make it two in a row at the top next week when her latest holds on to the #1 slot thanks to sales of 115,000.

Though Bey's sales were down a bracing 63 percent (with a two-week total just shy of 426,000), that is more than enough to hold off this year's chart queen, Adele, whose five-month-old smash, 21, holds steady at #2 thanks to another 79,000 units moved. That pushes her total to date to nearly 2.6 million, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

The ladies rule a female-heavy top 10 that features just one new entry, R&B singer Lloyd's King of Hearts, which sneaks in at #10 on sales of 26,000.

The rest of the top 10: Selena Gomez & the Scene, When the Sun Goes Down (#3, 44,000), Jason Aldean, My Kinda Party (#4, 42,000), Bad Meets Evil, Hell: The Sequel (#5, 35,000), Jackie Evancho, Dream With Me (#6, 34,000), Jill Scott, Light of the Sun (#7, 32,000), Lady Gaga, Born This Way (#8, 30,000) and Big Sean, Finally Famous (#9, 27,000).

It was an otherwise quiet week for new releases, with most of the top 40 suffering double-digit drops in sales. Among those losing some significant business: Bon Iver, whose Bon Iver is down 39 percent to 24,000, "American Idol" winner Scott McCreery, whose digital EP slips nine spots in its second week as sales tanked by 65 percent, fellow "Idol" champ David Cook, whose second album, This Loud Morning, drops 19 slots to #26 in its second go-round as business fell by 74 percent, and this year's "Idol" runner-up, Lauren Alaina, whose EP shed 47 percent of last week's figures to land at #35.

It seems that few of Limp Bizkit's fans have hung around for their long-promised comeback album, Gold Cobra, as sales took a nosedive in week two. The LP falls 40 slots to #56 as sales tailed off by 72 percent (8,000). Beyoncé has to settle for second-best on the iTunes albums chart, as Adele triumphs, pushing Bey to #2, followed by Bad Meets Evil, Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More, Bon Iver, Big Sean, We the Kings' Sunshine State of Mind, Gomez, Aldean and Gaga.

You can tell it's summer on the iTunes singles chart, as party starters LMFAO take the pole position with "Party Rock Anthem," which pushes Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" to #2, followed by Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass," Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," OneRepublic's "Good Life" and Adele's monster single, "Rolling in the Deep." At #7 is Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight," and then Lil Wayne's "How to Love," Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem" and Gaga's "The Edge of Glory."

Beyoncé's chart reign is likely to end next week as a raft of new titles hits shelves. They include the hyped latest from "The Voice" breakout hosting star Blake Shelton, as well as new albums from Incubus, Colbie Caillat, Chris Young and Ashton Shepherd.
